Early Bird:  Registered and paid 3 weeks prior to event. 

 ATTENTION COACHES:  Payment made the last 2 weeks before competition must be paid by Credit Card, Cash, or Money Order.

Coaches -
Competition fee is FREE.  Please report to Registration at least 2 hours prior to warm up time.
Please report and check in with warm ups 30 minutes before your scheduled time. Remember everyone wants the competition to run on time and in correct order.  PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS HAPPEN.

Spectator
- $15 must be paid in advance with registration form.

ATTENTION PARENTS:  Our program schedule must be printed in advance!  many times the program will not have LATE CHANGES OR TEAM NAMES THAT REGISTERED LATE!  We also have Individuals that will add an event at the competition.  This event will not be on the schedule.  No one may bring food or drinks into venue.  Parents may Video tape at any event EXCEPT  Nationals, Mini Nationals, and Tournament of Champions.

CASH AWARDS

Awards and Gifts:
   §          All Individuals will receive a GIFT.
   §          All Individuals will be placed out at awards.
   §          CHAMPIONS in each event and age division will receive:
    1.  CASH AWARD (see chart for amounts) EXCEPTION: Must have 3 individuals in the division to receive the CASH AWARD.
              ·          In divisions that have been separated into male/female, the cash award will be given to the highest scoring Champion of the two.
    2.  PRESTIGIOUS TROPHY

NATION’S BEST INDIVIDUAL GRAND CHAMPION will be awarded:

Varsity Division Winners Possible $10,000 total.  Other Divisions with at least 3 a total of $2,500.

1.       $1,000 Scholarship – The highest scoring SOLO INDIVIDUAL from the following categories:
§          Varsity Elite Best Cheerleader
§          Varsity Best Cheerleader
§          Varsity Tumble Pass/Jump Only (combined)
§          Varsity Cheer Only/Crowd Pleaser (combined)
§          Varsity Best Dancer Jazz/Lyrical/Hip-Hop (combined)
2.       NATION’S BEST INDIVIDUAL GRAND CHAMPION WINNER will receive an additional $5,000 toward their college fund for a winning scholarship totaling $6,000.  WINNERS FROM PRIOR SEASONS CANNOT BE AWARDED MORE THAN $10,000 TOTAL.
3.       Nation’s Best Individual Grand Champion will be selected on the following basis:
§          Essay on “What Cheerleading/Dancing means to me.”
§          Report Card
§          On-Stage Interview
§          Please bring these items with you to Vegas.  If you fail to do so, you will receive a 0 for that portion of the score.
4.       There MUST be at least FIVE athletes in a category in order to qualify for Grand Champion.
5.       Scholarship money will be paid directly to the college/university in which the athlete is enrolled.  All money for non-graduating seniors will be held in an interest baring account until graduation.  Athletes not attending college will lose their scholarship money.  Graduating seniors have one year to enter a college program and must be enrolled in at least 12 hours to be eligible for the money.
6.       An athlete may represent only one-category/combined categories.
7.       In the event that an athlete wins highest score in more than one area, he/she will represent the category with his/her highest score.  Judges will then select a Grand Champion Nominee with the next highest score to compete for Nation’s Best Individual Grand Champion.

Coach will have the opportunity to sign a Commit to Compete Form (found on cheerpower.varsity.com) and pay a $250.00 non-refundable deposit per team to lock your early bird price for the competition(s) of your choice.
The form and deposit must be SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 17, 2009! 
 No forms will be accepted after this date. 

FAMILY DISCOUNT (TEAMS AND INDIVIDUAL EVENTS)
 
Must have 3+ immediate family members on teams (excludes parents on a parent team) and/or 3+ immediate family members participating in individual events to receive the $25.00 discount.
 
Discount is only applied to the 3rd or more family members.
 
Please indicate discount(s) on registration forms and clearly mark each family with 3 or more members on team roster(s).

SPONSORED ATHLETE
 
Cheer Power will sponsor the registration fee for ONE ATHLETE per team from every program across the nation! Coaches please submit the names of athletes you feel need financial help to cheer@cheerpower.varsity.com.
 
Sponsored athletes are not eligible for 3+ family member discounts.
EXCEPTION: Cheer Power will not sponsor athletes participating in Individual events or a parent on a parent team.

 
DANCE- If the same team competes more than one routine, only one sponsored athlete per team, not routine, is allowed. 

NATIONAL EARNED CREDIT (NEC)-
 
Any team that attends competitions using one of the combinations listed below in addition to submitting their payments at least 2 weeks prior to each competition, will receive a $10.00 rebate, per participant, for each team that competes at Nationals: (Example: 15 participate during the season- 18 compete at Nationals, team will receive rebate for 15 athletes).

REBATE CHECKS WILL BE ISSUED AT NATIONALS.  NEC IS A CHEER POWER/ POWER DANCE’S WAY OF GIVING BACK TO YOUR SCHOOL/ GYM/ YOUTH/ REC LEAGUE.
NOTE: Registration and Payments MUST be received 2 weeks prior to all events in order to receive NEC!!!

VARSITY FAMILY PLAN- To qualify for the 2009-2010 Varsity Family Plan, follow the 4-2-2 guidelines…In order to participate in the Varsity Family Plan and receive a rebate, gyms must register and enter a qualifying event schedule at www.varsityfamilyplan.com Gyms must compete in at least four (4) events, produced by a minimum of two (2) Varsity Brands, and must bring two (2) or more teams to compete at the event.

Directions:
From California: Head North on Interstate 15 to Exit 31 (Silverado Ranch Boulevard). As you exit, stay right and make your first right into the parking area for South Point. The South Point is located at 9777 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

From the Rental Car Terminal at McCarren Airport: Head South on Gilespie St. toward E. Warm Springs Rd. Turn right on E. Warm Springs Rd. Then turn Left on Las Vegas Blvd.
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa is on the right hand side of the road at 9777 Las Vegas Boulevard South.

To get to the equestrian center, go through the casino to the West wing and exit through the set of double doors, you will then enter into another set of double doors that will lead you into the Arena. Head up the stairs, the exhibit halls are on the right hand side, and the arena is straight ahead.

Floor Type:
This competition is on a spring floor

Warm up Floor:
Please report and check in with warm ups 30 minutes before your scheduled time. Remember everyone wants the competition to run on time and in correct order.  PLEASE HELP US MAKE THIS HAPPEN.  Teams will receive one rotation of two 12' X 60' spring run for  3 1/2 minutes each, and 3 1/2 minutes on a 42' X 54' cheer floor.  A sound system will be provided.
Individuals will have open warmups beginning 30 minutes prior to the first event. Note: Individuals need to bring their own sound equipment if needed.

Legality Verification
It is the coach's responsibility to be current on all level and safety guidelines.  If you have questions concerning any legality, please video tape the stunt or element in question and send it either via email to cheer@cheerpower.com or mail it to 201 Spruce St. Dickinson, TX  77539

Spotter Policy:
SPOTTER POLICY – Cheer Power will provide up to three spotters on the performance floor at all competitions, for any division with stunts. (Teams will not be allowed to waive the right to have spotters or have their own staff or coaches spot routines on the performance floor.) Teams will be required to provide their own qualified spotters, for any warm-up area.

MUSIC:
 Bring 2 quality recorded CDs or an MP3 player. 
 
Provide a representative to run music at the music station.
 
Music systems are different; therefore, coaches are strongly advised to create routines that finish at least 5 seconds before the maximum time limit in order to avoid time limit penalties.
 If a mistake is made because of Cheer Power’s/Power Dance’s personnel or sound system failure, the team will be allowed to perform again from the point in the routine where the mistake was made.
